Tooth Whitening

Over time, teeth naturally start to lose their brightness, becoming stained and yellow in appearance. Professional whitening agents contain hydrogen peroxide molecules that safely and effectively break down the stained pigments trapped on top of and underneath the surfaces of your teeth, and bleaches them to produce a much brighter, whiter smile.

WHAT SERVICE DO WE PROVIDE?

We provide an at-home whitening kit which includes upper and lower custom whitening trays, a case for your trays, and whitening gels. To use, simply dispense the whitening gel inside your custom trays and are wear either throughout the day or whilst you sleep for a few weeks. This allows your teeth to be gently but effectively whitened. These trays are custom-made specifically for you. This means, you can reuse them for many years whenever you wish to top up your treatment in the future to maintain your new bright white smile.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS?

The process is super easy and only requires two very short appointments to provide you with the whitening system.

Appointment 1 →  Moulds are taken of your upper and lower teeth and sent to the laboratory to make custom bespoke trays just for you.

Appointment 2 → Receive your custom upper and lower trays and whitening kit. Your dentist will then demonstrate how to dispense your gels into your trays to maximise your results.

As the whitening process is carried out by yourself, the results are very dependent on you and your lifestyle. Whitening does require very consistent use and may require several top of treatments to achieve your desired results. Frequently consuming dark and rich coloured foods and liquids, and smoking and vaping can all adversely affect the process and delay how long it takes to achieve your desired result.

To maximise the effects, we recommend:

  • Regularly attending for a hygiene appointment every 6 months.
  • Stopping or at least excessively cutting down on smoking. You will not achieve the desired results you want while you consistently smoke or vape.
  • Drinking rich coloured liquids through a straw and rinsing your mouth out with water after consuming rich coloured foods.

IS WHITENING PAINFUL?

Not at all. You may experience some increased sensitivity during the process which can be managed with the use of sensitive toothpaste.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST:

Teeth whitening costs £299 in total for your complete whitening kit. You must pay a £100 deposit on your first appointment where your moulds are taken to cover the cost of the laboratory fees.

CAN I USE WHITENING STRIPS INSTEAD?

At present, you may see many cheap commercial ‘non-peroxide’ whitening strips on the market. These strips contain chemicals that can be harmful to your teeth and gums and do not work effectively. You cannot safely or effectively whiten your teeth without peroxide containing whitening agents. The whitening gels we provide are tried, tested, and are completely safe to provide you the best results.

AM I SUITABLE FOR TEETH WHITENING?

Teeth whitening is not recommended if you are:

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Under 18
  • Have severe gum disease
  • An allergy to peroxide
